I have been telling her all about going to school for quite a while now so I'm sure she was just ready to get on with it! Anyway, the carpool drop-off starts around 9:25 and we were in line at 9:20. She got a little bit antsy while we were sitting still waiting in line. She likes to wait even less than her mommy and daddy! So to help pass the time we were singing and counting the cars...we were 26th in line today. Once the line started moving, she was happy as a clam and I kept telling her over and over how much fun she was going to have and that she was going to go play. I showed her the playground and we were talking about the different things on the playground. When the teacher opened the car door, Audrey said "go play? slide?" and the teacher and I both told her she was getting to go play...and she was off...NO tears! The teacher said "She'll do great. Have a good morning mom!" So off I went...with my MY eyes full of tears. My mom called about 45 seconds after I dropped her off and that saved me from actually crying since I had the opportunity to brag about how great Audrey did.
Carpool pick-up was just as smooth (although during the wait this time I did not choose to sing the itsy, bitsy spider and the wheels on the bus repeatedly.) They bring the one year old class out of a different door and I was waiting when she came out the door...she said "mommy!" and was so happy to see me. I was ready and waiting for my big hug! The teacher told me she had a great day. She said she would fuss for a second here or there, but then she would just get over it and move on.
As soon as we pulled out of the parking lot, I opened her daily folder and checked her "note from the teacher" that will tell me how she did in more detail. It tells me what time she ate, how well she ate, when she needed diaper changes and what type (fun, fun...), what mood she was in and any additional comments.
Her note said that she ate all of her sandwich (which was half of a turkey & cheese on whole wheat) and some of both her peas and fruit. They put what was left back in her lunchbox so I could see what was left. It said that her mood was playful (the other options are fretful, tired or quiet) and the additional comments were "A few tears this morning. She really enjoyed singing the wheels on the bus and her lunch time"
The word "few" in her comments was underlined quite a bit so I knew the assistant teacher was telling me the truth :) She will be in school two mornings a week and I think she is going to love it. One morning I will be taking her and picking her up and the other morning it will be her grammie. We will miss her when she's there...my car seemed so quiet. I didn't have anyone to sing with.
Today I wanted to stay busy and stay in Snellville in case she needed to be picked up early. They warned that the young ones may need an adjustment period... so I forced myself to get a pedicure :) That was tough... and I also ran a few errands and made a stop off at work to help out with some things. Hopefully though I can use this time to vacuum from now on. Audrey is terrified of the vacuum...for a while she wouldn't even come near it when it was off. She is a light sleeper so it wakes her up when she is sleeping.... We are working on this...
Ok... this is getting long. I'm going to add the pictures and get to the laundry while she's napping. The pictures are a little rough...the camera was dying and I had about 1 minute to take these.

Hey girl!! Such cute pictures! I know you guys aren't partial at all, but she is just adorable! She's all growing up....Anyway, when do you want to get together? In general Wednesdays are the only days that I can't get together, and on the other days I'm free as long as it's late enough.....let me know! :)
