Audrey is 3 going on 13. Oh the drama.... :) She certainly brings lots of laughter into our life! Her creative side is really starting to expand now... she's growing inreasingly interested in her "art" (which I translate as "mess") and is forcing me to expand my horizons a bit in the intricacies of play-doh. She has her own vocabulary....she creates words on a regular basis so chairs become hufdinks and windows become fleebos...you get the picture. She's also learned the fine art of flattery...the other day I heard "Mom, I just love you sooo much. You're so gorgeous. Can I have a chocolate pudding?" (go figure, it worked...) She's developing her physical skills too...she loves to dribble the basketball and is practicing catching her baseball in her new left-handed mitt (that would be the pink mitt that BLINKS...in case you were wondering. good grief.) She's starting to want to write her name when she's in the mood and she has the letters, A, U, and H going strong. Embarrassingly enough, she's fantastic with the laptop and can type her name better than she can write it. She announces "my name is Audrey. A-U-D-R-E-Y" and then hunts and pecks until she gets it. She can also maneuver the touchpad just as well as I can. She's constantly asking for permission to play games on nickjr.com or to "type messages" (this is what I tell her I'm doing when I'm sending an e-mail)

Ava is now officially 7 months and is discovering her new world. She's crawling all over the place now and trying to keep up with big sis. She's starting to pull up on things, but for now she just kind of stalls out on her knees. She's jabbering at us a lot and we hear "mamamamamama" and "dadadada" occasionally. It's not exactly intentional but I take great pride that the "mama" came first this time (Ryan got all the credit with Audrey...) I'm still fascinated by the fact that she'll sit in my lap...I was well aware that other babies did this but had just never experienced it until Ava came along. Unfortunately, she's had some more lap-sitting practice in the waiting room at the pediatrician's office. She's had a few run-ins with the evil ear infection and it just breaks my heart. Since January she's been surrounded by nasal aspirators, humidifiers (at least it's cute...looks like a cow), antibiotics and mean old mom with the kleenex (the worse enemy of all). It doesn't really seem to hold her back though...she just keeps on grinning at us!
I'm hoping to have my Easter pictures up soon...I meant to do that 1st but now it's too late and I'm tired....
