As you may could have guessed, Audrey is learning to count! We're having so much fun with this. She is also picking up on the alphabet. Today I was singing the alphabet song and leaving gaps for her to "fill in" and she got it right quite a few times. Her favorite is "p" :)
We had a babysitter come for a few hours tonight and she told us that she counted to nine all on her own while she was flipping through a book. We were so proud....(although she did skip 8...I guess we'll have to work on that.)
I was very glad that she was awake when we got back! I missed her so much! Tomorrow she has a big day with her grandmommy and grandpa clay so I'm sure we'll have fun adventures to report!
I also discovered today that she is now fascinated with books that have the little flaps that she can lift. Up until now, she would have ripped them off. Her grandmommy had given her this little Bible/storybook that has hard pages with hard flaps. She sat for 20 minutes in my lap turning each page and looking under each flap. If you know how "on the move" Audrey is, then you know how great this was for me...especially since I want her to love to read so badly. Anyway, she has a doctor's appointment coming up in the very near future and I've decided to set this book aside for a little while...so it will be "new" again when we are sitting in the waiting room. Or rather, when I'm sitting and trying to keep her semi-still.
And my friend Tammy has made an excellent point, when you take your child to the doctor - remember to put them in easy off/easy on clothes...since that is the first thing you have to do.
