KaCHOW!! a date night

Last night Ryan and I went to go see the movie Cars. He called me right before I left work and told me that Stacy called and wanted to come over & play with Audrey so he asked if she would mind babysitting instead ....and since she is the best sister/sister-in-law/aunt in the whole world....she said "of course."

That was a very nice surprise since he has a busy week. If you see the movie you will understand my title. They tried so hard to make a new popular "term." The movie was cute although I thought it was a little long for an animated film and it was a little creepy watching cars flirt with each other. It does keep you on your toes trying to keep up with all the hidden innuendos...I couldn't believe they made a reference to someone being "lit" in a children's movie. The argument would be that children won't understand what that meant...but I guarantee that some of today's 5th graders would understand the term. Sad....

Today was Gymboree day again and she had a blast. She was fascinated with this thing they call a nautical slide...I wish I could explain it...but she must have climbed it and slid down no less than 40 times. It was almost like she was determined to do it "right." We headed home to do the lunch/nap thing and then all three of us went out to run some errands and buy more diapers.

We are on our fourth pack of diapers for the month. We have been pampers swaddlers and pampers cruisers lovers from the very beginning...but they've changed the liners! The new mesh that they've put in them as an "improvement" really bother the skin on the backs of her legs (she has eczema there)and also causes her to have more problems with diaper rash. I am not the only mother who feels this way either....anyway, we have been on the search for the next best thing....and there isn't one. We are settling with another version of Pampers called "baby dry" but they aren't nearly as nice. We've tried Huggies (they leak) Target (horrible, horrible) & even publix (not bad, but irritate her legs) ... Luvs are identical to Pampers baby dry since they are both made by proctor & gamble so why bother?

Tonight Ryan is at the braves game with our friend Adam so we went to see Nana. Papa has visitation at First Baptist on Tuesdays so it is always a good time to see her since she's alone. We had a great time and she insisted on feeding us (of course) even though we had both already eaten. Audrey discovered the bells hanging on her front door and played with those quite a bit.

She is sleeping so peacefully now. She was ready to go night-night...practically begging for it. I really wonder how long that is going to last?

She has started being so much more affectionate lately. Up until now she was never still long enough to give a hug. But now she is giving us hugs and letting us snuggle her more often and even offering kisses. She likes to make the "muah" noise that goes with the kisses too. At nana's house tonight she was petting the ceramic cat and giving it kisses....we didn't tell her to do this...she was doing it on her own which made it cuter. I think we have pictures of me when I was younger with that same cat.

Tomorrow is a work day for me so she will be heading to her Grammie's (my mom) house for the day! She is starting to recognize the streets that we drive on to get to her house and is saying "grammie" when we drive that way. She eats breakfast over there since it's early and as soon as she hits the kitchen she is running to her chair saying "eat eat" or "pantakes" ...the other day at home she told me she wanted a "wa wa wa waffle" - which looking back, that is exactly what i told her they were the first time. I was emphasizing the "w" sound...I guess she was listening, huh?

For random information (and my future reference) this is what Audrey ate today. She had eggs & toast for breakfast, pancakes & applesauce for lunch (per her request...she was really tired & ready for nap & it was quick) and most of a deli ham & cheese sandwich at subway for dinner. Her 2nd dinner at nana's consisted of some chicken salad, homemade chicken noodle soup with vegetables & more applesauce (that stuff is like crack for babies)...and lots of milk. (mulk in her words)

I wish I had pictures to post but we haven't found the camera today...actually I haven't even looked for it.
