Another day, Another dollar

Well, I finally started my blog. I feel a sense of accomplishment. Of course I should be doing laundry and other such "important things" but that's beside the point.

Did you ever see the show "The Facts of Life?" I thought a throwback to the 80's would make a great title to this blog....but let's face it, if I were really being honest, the title should read "Saved by the Bell" since that channel is where it was glued most of the time during my formative years.

My primary goal for this little project is to help me keep the family (& friends) updated with Audrey's daily activities....they are just too cute not to share, and I think this will be a great way to do that. We all know that I am horrible at using the telephone and everyone hates mass e-mails....so now you can keep up with us by choice.

I guess it's necessary to inform you that I tend to overuse punctuation when I type..... so you will notice lots of "quotation marks" and elliptical markings (...) and such....Please know that I am aware of this problem, but I am not planning to work on it.... It helps my thoughts flow..... and I think the dots are cute :)

So....in keeping with the purpose of the blog, I should give an Audrey update. Where do I even begin? Her favorite word over the past few weeks has been "please" although when she says it, it comes out "peas" and she says it repetitively in a high-pitched whisper. She has learned that this is the magic word....it is really hard to say "no" when your 17 month old has grasped the concept of manners....at least somewhat. Tonight I came home from work and she was in the greatest mood - all smiles and giggles. She loves to be tickled and chased so that was first thing on the agenda. Ryan had to leave to go to a basketball practice so we had some girl time together. We have been consistently working with her to help clean up her toys, so that is what we did. She doesn't yet know that cleaning up isn't a game....so we had a blast. I was so proud of how well she followed directions...putting the books on the shelf, the blanket in the cabinet, carrying Noah & his ark to the closet, etc.... I would ask her to do something and she would try her best to follow the instructions. Occasionly she would get distracted, but all in all she helped clean the entire family room...and if you could have seen how many toys she had dragged out all over, you would know what a massive undertaking this was. After we were finished cleaning, she told me she wanted to go upstairs (she stands at the gate and says "stairs") so we went up and dragged out quite a few toys upstairs...and then cleaned them up too. She probably wonders why mommy wants to "clean up" all the time....After a while she was starting to get tired and I asked her if she was ready to go "night night"...and she sure was. This girl LOVES to sleep....so we went downstairs and got her bottle and we changed into her pajamas....and after I put her in the crib, I think she was asleep before I could get out of the room....

..and now I miss her. I can't wait to spend tomorrow together since I'm not working. Tomorrow is gymboree day....

Well, I've been all over the map with my first blog...but at least it's a start!
