Controlled Chaos

Well, last Friday I had my second round of bloodwork. I told myself that I wasn't going to post until I got those results back....and we got them yesterday. We are excited that everything is continuing to look good with the pregnancy, and I'm feeling great. Outside of being really tired, I don't really feel pregnant most of the time and sometimes it seems like I have to remind myself. We also have an ultrasound scheduled very soon !!

We had an action-packed weekend. On Friday night we went to dinner with our friends Jeff & Mary, and we ate at a restaurant called "Dish" in the Virginia Highlands. We always have fun when we let them pick where we go....Ryan and I tend to stay in our little "suburban" world so it's fun to venture out sometimes. After dinner we went to a coffee shop and then headed home to hear good reports about Audrey. My friend/coworker Jan, and her son Shane, came over to play with her and it sounds like they had a fun night. Jan couldn't believe how much applesauce she ate :) This kid LOVES her applesauce. She doesn't even get the "good" stuff....we feed her the natural stuff that has no added sugar!

On Saturday night, we went to the Atlanta Fish Market with our friends BJ and Tammy from church. It seems like just yesterday they were announcing their pregnancy...I can't believe their little munchkin is already in size 3 diapers! I guess as a mom, you can measure time by diaper size.... Anyway, the food there was great as always and we had fun talking "baby" most of the night. I'm so glad that we were finally able to get together.

Meanwhile, Audrey went for an adventure with her Grandmommy and Grandpa Clay. They came and picked her up around 3:15 and left to visit some friends of theirs and their children. Audrey spent the night at their house and we picked her up on the way to church on Sunday morning

I can't believe how sad I was to see her leave when they picked her up....in fact it was the most difficult time I've had leaving her yet. I'm sure a large part of it was the pregnancy hormones (poor Ryan) but she was also fussing a little bit b/c she didn't want to get in the carseat...and she was saying "momma! momma!" and I had to shut that door and walk inside. I completely lost it! Fortunately, Ryan was there to listen and to understand....he let me get calmed down and then he called his mom to check and see how she was doing. Of course, she was fine as soon as she got going and was busy naming all of her body parts for them. :) I was able to get a grip and enjoy my evening....I was so excited to see her on Sunday morning though...and then it killed me to leave her AGAIN in her little Sunday School class.

Needless to say, by Sunday afternoon I was ready for some quality Audrey time. Sunday evening our friends Cliff and Nicole came to visit all 3 of us. Audrey was (understandably) a little out of sorts when they got here...but once she had dinner and fully woke up from her nap, we had a fun night. We grilled out and then decided to pile in the car and head to Brusters....yum! The best news is that our neighbor saw us leaving and found out where we were headed and gave us some coupons! It was meant to be! Audrey ate more of my ice cream than I did, I think. When we got back the boys watched the ESPY awards and other sports "stuff" and Cole and I played with Audrey and then went to Walmart after she went to bed. What a fun, relaxing evening. I wish they lived closer...(they keep trying to get us to move....)

Monday was a workday and not much exciting happened until I got my good phonecall from my doctor. I was so happy to hear that my bloodwork was normal and I was even happier to schedule an ultrasound. Yesterday Audrey and I went to Gymboree and to walmart and then all 3 of us had dinner with Nana & Papa last night.

We were all sitting at the dinner table and Audrey was playing with her toys. All of a sudden she took off running toward the back of their house....I waited just a minute, and then headed after her....and where did I find her? She was on the phone in their back bedroom...she was holding it to her ear saying "helllloooo? helllooo?" She flitted all over their house exploring everything she hadn't seen before. She loves to play with the bells on their front door and she of course had to play with Nana and her spools of thread again. This time she even spiced it up by counting to 10 for her. We are so blessed to be surrounded by so much family.

Today was another workday...Audrey was great for her Grammie today. I got reports of lots of hugs and kisses which always makes me happy. Her theme of the day was "jumping." When I came to pick her up she was literally jumping all over their kitchen. She says "bup bup bup" and just jumps over and over.... I need to figure out how to post a video so you can get the full effect. She also has been excited to use the word "kiss" all the time too. It is just so rewarding to finally get so much affection in return! Audrey's Aunt Stacy came over to see her for about an hour before it was her bedtime and they had fun playing with toys and reading books! Whenever Stacy walks into the room, Audrey says "Ay-Cee!" and breaks out into this huge grin!

Phew...I'm tired. I think that's the pregnancy talking....I am still eating spaghetti quite often although I have discovered that the craving is actually for the Parmesan sprinkle cheese and not so much the actual spaghetti. I also haven't really had a desire for chocolate which is a good thing...I love chocolate so much as it is that I'm afraid we'd have a major problem on our hands it if were a craving of mine.

oh, and I just have to give credit to my wonderful husband. He took my glass caddy (from Southern Living at Home) to the florist and had it filled with the most beautiful flowers. How sweet! I think I'll keep him :)
